The STANDARD and the STATUS of BREED

The Canadian sphinx is not just a cat without coat. Certainly, absence of coat is the basic attribute of breed according to which visitors learn sphinxes at exhibitions. But factory owners and felinologes have a concrete standard of all other parts of a body for a sphinx, and absence of coat on their bodies is not the most important attribute. The shape of modern sphinx is simply magic. It reminds "tanager" figurine. All lines of its body are smooth, but at the same time they are not graceful. The grace of movement is surprisingly harmoniously combined with the bent forward paws - handles, a stomach, under the form reminding a pear with a tail curtailed into a hard bagel and pressed to a side. Ears of sphinx are huge and wide at the basis, with the rounded tips, an average stand (it is not high and is not low), eyes under the form remind a lemon. The leather is thick, it forms folds on a head, a muzzle, a neck, a stomach and a little on the case. A body is dense, brawny. Back finiteness is longer than lobbies, because of what at sphinxes original gait. Leather to the touch is suede because of a short down covering of all body. The wool is kept at all sphinxes on a nose, behind ears; it can also be on a tip of a tail and paws. Besides the wool can appear on these places during hormonal changes (pregnancy, the period of a lactation), at wrong feeding and at the lowered temperature of the maintenance.

The recognition of the Canadian sphinxes as breeds was uneasy, and only "the second wave " in the cultivation, began from repeatedly found animals, has allowed to create this unique breed.
